Engineer Yousef Al-Zughaibi, Director General of the Real Estate Development Fund, said that the number of citizens who were approved for a loan and did not visit the fund to benefit from their loans, despite the passage of a long time after the approval, amounted to about 120 thousand citizens, and indicated that the volume of amounts issued against citizens who did not benefit from loans is estimated at about 50 billion riyals, and Al-Zughaibi expected that the percentage of citizens who will suspend the approval issued to them, about 60 percent of the total eligible, which means saving about 30 billion riyals for re-lending again. <The Director General of the Real Estate Development Fund stressed that limiting the loan approval period to one year only, after the period was open and unspecified, aims to benefit from the amounts allocated to those who were approved and did not implement their loans within the period, stressing that “postponing the loan does not mean depriving the borrower.“ Instead, the approval will be issued to the applicant within the first payment issued, after he submits proof of his readiness to benefit from the loan.“

“. <Al-Zughaibi pointed out that if the borrower requests the suspension of the loan approval himself before the expiration of the period set for him to benefit from the loan, he will be given priority to issue the loan approval again once he is ready to benefit from the loan. Al-Zughaibi pointed out that those who apply and the period set for them to benefit from the loan expires, the approval will be suspended automatically. “In this case, however, he will not have the priority to reactivate the loan approval when it is ready, because the priority will be given to those who have voluntarily suspended the approval."
