The Cabinet, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, approved The Evidence System, after completing the statutory procedures for its study in the Shura Council as required by its system.
The Evidence Law is the first of the four previously announced draft laws (the other three are: The Evidence Law will be followed by the Personal Status Law during the first quarter of 2022, and then the other two systems will be issued after the completion of the study of their drafts according to the statutory procedures set by the Basic Law of Governance, the Shura Council Law and the Council of Ministers Law.

On this occasion, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for his constant support for the process of developing the legislative system in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which contributes to raising its quality and enhancing the performance of judicial bodies, given that these systems are key pillars in achieving transparency and justice, noting that the Evidence System will achieve a major qualitative leap in the system of judicial legislation and establish principles based on fixed references in judicial work.
His Highness explained that the Evidence System takes into account the requirements of new developments in the social, economic and technical aspects of life, and keeps pace with developments in the present era, in light of the provisions of Islamic Sharia and the Kingdom's international obligations, while benefiting from the best international practices in evidence laws in force in the world and regional countries, especially recent laws, in addition to contributing to promoting justice to protect society, individuals, rights and property.
The Evidence System will achieve a major qualitative leap in the system of justice legislation and establish principles based on stable references in the judicial work.
