Over the past year, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Da'wah, and Guidance, represented by the Agency for Mosque Affairs, has completed documented 40,000 mosque and prayer hall deeds in the automated system, and electronic deeds were issued according to the geographical distribution of each branch, and the sorting of 11,000 mosque deeds held by the General Authority for State Real Estate was completed.
A recently released report indicated that the number of mosques temporarily closed due to the pandemic and reopened after 24 hours reached 3,027, as tracked through daily monitoring, The number of weekly inspection rounds to ensure compliance with precautionary measures reached 21,700 rounds per week, in addition to the preparation of 6,000 supporting mosques across the Kingdom to temporarily host Friday prayers during the pandemic.
The report noted that 292,000 informational and awareness banners were printed in multiple languages to educate worshippers, and 6,000 male and female supervisors, imams, and muezzins in accordance with the National Employment Plan in the first phase.
It also worked on preparing a project to automate mosque services and electronically update the data of mosque staff, including imams, preachers, muezzins, and mosque attendants, as well as establishing regulations regarding the naming of mosques and prayer halls.
These efforts, implemented by the Ministry across various regions of the Kingdom, aim to enhance the services provided to worshippers, provide scientific and Sharia training for mosque staff, improve the competence of imams and preachers, and elevate their performance levels to fulfill the aspirations of the wise leadership and alignthe goals of Vision 2030.
