MetaVerse
Hisham al-Qasim
Imagine the daily life of an architect today, there is a demand for a new project, a blank canvas full of endless possibilities, the creative delight is about to begin, the main constraints have been identified: Brief, terrain and surroundings analysis, solar orientation and prevailing winds, first sketches are created, always combined with structural knowledge, even if basic, it is mainly determined for those who live in the gravitational acceleration of 9.807 m/s².
First sketches are created, always combined with structural knowledge, even if it is basic, it is mainly determined for those who live in the gravitational acceleration of 9.807 m/s².
But what if the abstract remains only between these basic premises?
Those who venture into the architecture of metaverse, of course have already asked themselves this question, a playful environment where all dreams are possible, where there are no limitations of architecture aspects, no more dynamics of light and shadow, just an infinite open field.
<The metaverse appears to break the boundaries of architecture in a faster and more practical way, eliminating cranes and years of calculation and construction. In this process, geometry seems to be no longer useful, and thus the possibility of transforming the Arabian desert city into unimaginable structures, and here the idea that a successful engineer must have a certain structural knowledge collapses.
The metaverse emerges to break the boundaries of architecture in a faster and more practical way. <In this sense, with the abrupt separation that will occur between architecture and its structural concerns, will there still be room in the metaverse for engineering? <Although the negative answer seems obvious, it's still too early to tell. However, what can be observed is that large engineering firms are focusing on the idea of ”digital twins” and “reverse metaverse” as niches to be explored in this new phase.

Finally it can be said that in the uncertain future of technology, the way our professions will behave is the subject of much speculation, however, regardless of the discipline, one thing is certain, they will all need to adapt and reinvent themselves to keep up with new habits and upcoming innovations.
