The General Authority for State Property has clarified the controls of state ownership of real estate and the controls of government agencies leasing real estate outside the Kingdom, which aim to govern the procedures and raise the level of transparency, which reflects on raising the efficiency of government spending on real estate and its development.
<The Authority said that the provisions of State Property Ownership Controls apply to property ownership requests submitted by government agencies within the Kingdom, which included 22 articles that dealt with: "Types of ownership, procedures, receiving offers, and provisions governing the same."
<The regulations stipulate that the government entity must not have an unused property, in addition to the unavailability of another property for the state that meets its needs, and the approval of the Board of Directors . for a government entity that does not have the legal authority to own the property, provided that the necessary funds are available to own the property.
<With regard to the controls of government agencies renting real estate outside the Kingdom, the Authority emphasized that no government agency may rent real estate outside the Kingdom except when there is an urgent need for it, provided that the necessary funds for renting the property are available in the government agency's budget, and that the government agency does not have an unutilized property that meets its needs, and coordinate with the Authority to ensure that the property is not available.
