Riyadh Bus launches first phase of service to cover 15 routes

The Royal Commission for Riyadh City announced the launch of the first phase of the “Riyadh Bus” service, within the King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in Riyadh, and this phase includes the operation of more than 340 buses serving passengers through 633 stations and stops, including 15 routes within the 86 routes of the “Riyadh Bus” network.

The Authority explained that the launch of the Riyadh Bus Project is part of a series of projects that are part of the King Abdulaziz Public Transport Project in the city of Riyadh. The Authority explained that the launch of the first phase of the “Riyadh Bus” project, which was developed as one of the strategic projects aimed at serving the mobility needs of the city, making a qualitative leap in the public transportation sector, enhancing the connectivity of the parts of the capital and raising the quality of life for its residents and visitors, will gradually be followed by the five phases of service operation successively.

The total length of the “Riyadh Bus” network after the operation of the five phases is 1900 kilometers, and the total number of buses will be more than 800 buses, which will operate on 86 routes serving passengers through more than 2900 stations and stops.

The Riyadh Bus service will contribute to preserving the environment and public health in the city by operating environmentally friendly buses that run on low-sulfur fuel, as well as reducing air pollution caused by carbon dioxide emissions from car exhaust, by reducing reliance on the use of private cars, while providing a safe, comfortable and easy means of public transportation.

The Authority explained that the Riyadh Bus service will contribute to preserving the environment and public health in the city, by operating environmentally friendly buses that run on ”low-sulfur“ fuel. The King Abdulaziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh includes the implementation of an integrated network of trains and buses to meet the existing and expected future mobility requirements in Riyadh, provide a modern and safe transportation service throughout the capital, and offer smart city solutions to its residents and visitors, contributing to its development and improving its urban environment.

It is worth mentioning that the King Abdulaziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh includes the implementation of an integrated network of trains and buses.
