The World Economic Forum ranked Saudi Arabia 30th globally in terms of infrastructure among 144 of the world’s economies, taking into account the quality of road and rail networks and the quality of electricity supply.

The annual Global Competitiveness Report, recently released by the Forum, emphasized the importance of advanced infrastructure in shaping a strong economy for nations, while also emphasizing that efficient transportation, energy, and telecommunications networks create a business environment that helps companies grow, which will positively impact the creation of more job opportunities.

The report ranked Hong Kong first globally among the best countries in terms of infrastructure, followed by Singapore, while the UAE came in third, the Netherlands fourth, and Switzerland fifth.

The report based its ranking on details in the infrastructure file, according to which the UAE ranked first in terms of road quality, while Japan took the top spot for its railway system, the Netherlands had the best port infrastructure, and Singapore stood out for its airport infrastructure.
