The field visits included by the Riyadh Municipality to identify violations of compliance certificate requirements in more than 13,000 commercial buildings, as part of its efforts to improve the urban landscape and achieve exemplary buildings that enhance the city’s aesthetics.
Enhancing building owners" compliance
The Secretariat clarified that its campaigns during the corrective grace period, which ends today, Friday, February 16, 2024, aimed to enhance compliance among owners of buildings located along commercial corridors and to raise awareness of violations and visual disturbances, in order to contribute to a safe urban environment that elevates the urban landscape and positively impacts quality of life.
Issuance of a Certificate of Compliance Free of Charge
The Riyadh Municipality stated that the certificate of compliance is issued free of charge through its online portal, via simplified digital steps and clear procedures, via the link

It confirmed that, starting February 17, obtaining a Certificate of Compliance will be mandatory, urging property owners to obtain it to avoid regulatory penalties and fines.
It is worth noting that the launch of the compliance certificate aligns with plans aimed at providing a safe urban environment that meets safety requirements, and is also consistent with the Riyadh Municipality’s goals of raising compliance levels, providing advanced infrastructure, and implementing urban standards that enhance the urban landscape.
