The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources announced the allocation of two complexes for sand and gravel ore in Bisha Governorate in the Asir Region, in preparation for listing them on the Tadawul Mining Platform. This move is part of the ministry’s efforts to improve governance in the mining sector, enhance transparency, attract investment, and develop local communities adjacent to mining projects.
Jarah bin Muhammad Al-Jarrah, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, explained that the allocation decision included the East Al-Khaleej sand ore complex in Bisha Governorate, covering an area of 8.54 square kilometers, and the North Al-Shuqaiqah Sand Ore Complex in Bisha Governorate, covering an area of 13.36 square kilometers.
Al-Jarrah emphasized that, through the allocation of these mining complexes, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources aims to further encourage investment in the mining sector and attract specialized companies interested in investing in this sector, in addition to preserving the mining complexes and protecting them from illegal encroachments, in accordance with the provisions of the Mining Investment Law regulations.
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources seeks to protect the mining sector and maximize its value so that it becomes the third pillar of the national industry, and to work toward exploiting the Kingdom’s mineral wealth, which is spread across more than 5,300 sites and is estimated to be worth approximately 9.4 trillion riyals.
