The The Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing aims to provide more than 18,000 new housing units to beneficiaries of Developmental Housing during the second half of this year, with the aim of enabling the most needy families to own adequate housing.

The Ministry, represented by the Developmental Housing Agency, announced the transfer of ownership of 6,000 housing units to the most needy families in various regions of the Kingdom during the first half of this year, 2024, as part of the Ministry’s efforts to provide adequate housing for “Developmental Housing” beneficiaries.

It noted that, since the beginning of the year, the Developmental Housing program has helped more than 19,000 cases of rent arrears to provide social protection for those unable to pay rent, and carried out 25,000 development interventions to meet the development needs of beneficiary families, in addition to processing 15,000 service requests to enhance beneficiary satisfaction.

In a statement, the Ministry noted that it had carried out approximately 99,000 digital transactions that helped improve the experience of partner organizations to facilitate service delivery to beneficiaries, offering 135 development programs to the most needy families through its partners in the private and nonprofit sectors, and establishing and empowering 35 nonprofit organizations during the same period.

It is worth noting that “Developmental Housing” is one of the initiatives of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs, and Housing aimed at providing housing units to the most needy families under the care of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development “Social Security,” in collaboration with more than 300 civil society organizations.
