From October 6–8, 2024, the city of Riyadh will host the 14th edition of the Saudi Green Building Forum, under the patronage of His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipal and Housing Affairs, and with the participation of a number of local and international leaders, including experts, specialists, and investors in people- and environment-friendly services and products.
The Saudi Green Building Forum to link the construction and infrastructure sectors with the environment, climate, and desertification by strengthening the role of the government sector and partnerships with the private sector to contribute to the localization and integration of sustainable development goals in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Many relevant entities are working to raise construction standards and implement vital programs that reduce carbon emissions from buildings, neighborhoods, and cities, in addition to integrating civil society initiatives and partnerships into the planning, implementation, and recycling of construction waste, to ensure the quality of projects aimed at achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
The Secretary-General of the Saudi Green Building Forum, Engineer Faisal Al-Fadl, emphasized that the Forum, in its new session, looks forward to consulting on best practices with experts and companies specializing in this type of construction tools and technologies, adding that providing high-quality data on green buildings requires careful monitoring of indicators and an understanding of the areas where investment can improve performance in energy, water, materials, and infrastructure.
It is worth noting that the Saudi Green Building Forum in its 14th edition will highlight the localization of Sustainable Development Goals in cities, neighborhoods, and buildings, and showcase the efforts of relevant stakeholders in the field of green buildings.
