Riyadh to host the 14th edition of the Saudi Green Building Forum Next October

The forum takes place on October 6-8, 2024 under the patronage of the Minister of Municipalities and Housing and brings together experts and investors in sustainable construction.

Riyadh will host the 14th edition of the Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF) from October 6-8, 2024, under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, with the participation of a number of local and international leaders from experts, specialists and investors in services and products friendly to humans and the environment.

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing explained that the forum aims to exchange aspects of cooperation and promote creativity and innovation among partners and specialists in achieving procedures and applications of green concepts with the aim of increasing the number of cities, urban settlements and green projects, and resilience in the face of natural disasters.

Ministry of Municipalities and Housing According to the ministry, the forum will review the most prominent developments and best practices in reducing losses and maximizing economic and social gains resulting from natural disasters, including those related to water and building materials and reducing negative environmental impacts in urban areas and cities, through attention to the quality of daily life represented in air quality, waste management and reducing noise and visual pollution.

The forum will also target Cities, urban settlements and green projects, and resilience to natural disasters. The Saudi Green Building Forum also aims to open new horizons for cooperation between local and international partners and specialists to apply the procedures of green building concepts, see the projects of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this regard and increase the number of cities and urban settlements. The forum also includes a training workshop in cooperation with UNITAR on concepts, procedures and applications of sustainable development goals for companies and small and medium-sized enterprises.

It is noteworthy that SGBF holds consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, environmental observer status from the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), climate observer status in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), desertification observer status from the UNCCD, and cooperative trust from the Department of Global Communication (UNDGC) of the United Nations Secretariat.

The Saudi Green Building Forum (SGBF) has been granted consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
