555 e-services lead “Municipalities and Housing” to the level of “innovation” and obtain two certificates of excellence

Realized Ministry of Municipalities and HousingA new milestone in the digital transformation of municipal services was reached yesterday by reaching the “Innovation” level in the 2024 Digital Transformation Benchmarking Index launched by the Digital Government Authority (DGA), which was announced on the sidelines of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) during the current edition of the DGA Forum.

This is the culmination of the efforts of the Ministry of Municipalities and housing The ongoing digital transformation, adoption of emerging technologies and generative artificial intelligence by activating smart municipalities and more than 555 e-services used by more than 14 million users, in addition to raising the adoption of key services by 87% and raising the efficiency of regulatory work in commercial activities to 90% and 87% in construction activities.

The Ministry also received the Certificate of Excellence in National Enterprise Architecture, which embodies the Ministry's efforts through the digital transformation journey by creating innovative business models that contribute to raising the quality of services provided to the residents of cities. Through its platforms (Baladi, Residential, Opportunities, Compliant), the Ministry provided a facilitated experience for individuals and the business sector represented by 123 million electronic operations, with a customer satisfaction rate of 87%, and Baladi platform contributed to reducing visits to municipal secretariats and headquarters from 15 thousand visitors per month in 2023 to 7 thousand in 2024.

In terms of monitoring and improving the urban landscape, 37 elements of visual distortion were covered and the reliance on the human element was reduced by 90%, and the geographical coverage of areas covered by monitoring to improve the urban landscape was increased to 95% as of the end of last November.

The Honoring the Dead services also received the Certificate of Excellence as one of the best government services, which contributes to reducing the burdens on the families of the deceased in the burial procedures, and facilitating their access to the burial proof certificate through more than 23 services in integration with 20 government agencies.

These achievements come as a result of the Ministry's digital transformation efforts, through which it seeks to provide an integrated digital experience across all its platforms, with the aim of developing its digital services system and harnessing smart technologies to serve citizens and residents of the cities, and improve the system of services provided to them.
