Emir of Sharqiya sponsors the restoration of 1,000 homes in the region

The prince inaugurated a mobile maintenance workshop and handed over house number 1000 during a ceremony held by the Tarameem Association in the presence of officials and supporters.

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Honorary President of the “Restoration” Association, at the Emirate’s headquarters yesterday, the ceremony organized by the association under the title “A Millennium of Taramim” to mark the completion of the restoration of 1,000 homes for the association’s beneficiaries, in the presence of a number of officials and supporters.

His Highness inaugurated the first mobile maintenance workshop for the “Saudi Pioneer Technicians” initiative, listened to an explanation from the Saudi technicians operating these workshops, then toured the “Restoration” exhibition accompanying the celebration, and reviewed the activities and work of the male and female volunteers and their volunteer efforts.

His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province handed over the 1,000th house to one of the association’s beneficiaries, praising the efforts of the association’s leadership.

He highlighted the association’s track record in rehabilitating and restoring the homes of the most needy families, which has seen significant progress in recent years and enabled it to provide a stable living environment for beneficiaries, expressing his hope that this work will continue to achieve further successes.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Association for Restoration Engineer Hamad Al-Khalidi, the support provided by His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province to the association, who has given this initiative his full care and attention since its inception, noting that it began with the establishment of the first civil society organization in the Kingdom specializing in restoration, operating within the Eastern Province. Its inception began with a meeting with His Highness and receiving his guidance, which served as a roadmap for success in this developmental mission.

He noted that during the initial phase of its establishment, the association focused on institutional building and attracting qualified leadership and executive management. This phase was marked by the establishment of a system restoration system, as well as service standards, the identification of stakeholders, and the finalization of procedural manuals and operations,“ followed by the contribution of individual volunteers, both young and old, who accounted for the largest share of restoration achievements. The restoration model was replicated in five regions and became a center of expertise nationwide, by the grace of God and with the support of the wise leadership ”may God preserve them” and the guidance of His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province and His Highness the Deputy Governor, with the support of the public and private sectors and the participation of male and female volunteers.
This was followed by a video presentation titled “1,000 Homes, 5,367 Smiles.”

Badr Al-Rizai, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce, then delivered a speech on behalf of the partners, in which he emphasized that the impact of the restoration went beyond simply rebuilding homes to include contributing to the localization of the construction sector through two unique initiatives. The first is the “Pioneering Saudi Contractors” initiative, which aims to train entrepreneurs who own start-up and small construction firms; and second, the “Pioneering Saudi Technicians” initiative: which aims to localize technical jobs in the construction sector in partnership with the General Authority for Construction Projects.

The Association’s Secretary-General, Ali Al-Asmari, gave a presentation outlining the Association’s vision for the future and reviewing the achievements made as of October 20, 2024, citing figures that reflect the association’s growth: the number of volunteers reached 10,529, who completed 325,649 volunteer hours with an economic impact exceeding 16.6 million riyals, The number of homes renovated by the association in the Eastern Province reached 1,000, benefiting 5,367 recipients.

Al-Asmari outlined the association’s vision for the future and its goals for 2025, noting that the association aims to renovate 500 homes, maintain an additional 500 homes, and furnishing 400 homes, with the goal of improving the lives of more than 9,000 beneficiaries. The association also seeks to achieve 75,000 volunteer hours with the participation of 2,500 volunteers, while generating an estimated economic return of 4,275,000 riyals, reflecting the association’s commitment to expanding its impact and strengthening its efforts to support the most needy families.

Following this, His Highness the Governor of the Eastern Province witnessed the signing of a number of agreements between the Society and various entities, as well as the honoring of supporters and sponsors.
