The profession of real estate brokerage is no longer as it was, practiced randomly or dependent on individual relationships, as the Kingdom's Vision 2030 has redrawn the features of this sector, and raised the real estate broker from a mere transaction carrier to a key pillar in the real estate and development system.
Real estate brokerage is no longer just a transaction carrier to a key pillar in the real estate and development system. Through the new real estate brokerage system that came into effect in 2023, new rules of governance and transparency were established, and the practice of the profession became linked to an official license, subject to qualification and training conditions, and obligated to conclude contracts electronically through approved platforms, according to standardized models that guarantee rights and limit manipulation.
<This transformation was not cosmetic, but fundamental. The system has contributed to raising the efficiency of the market and increasing confidence among dealers, and data indicates that more than 96 thousand brokerage contracts were documented in the first quarter of 2025, with a growth rate of more than 97% compared to last year, along with the issuance of 35 thousand new licenses for brokers, reflecting the size of the transformation.
The real estate broker today is not just a link, but an active element in achieving the goals of the vision, especially in raising the percentage of residential ownership to 70%, attracting investments, and achieving a fairer and more organized market environment.
