His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, has started an official visit to Asir region. His Excellency will inspect a number of quality projects that contribute to improving infrastructure and urban landscape and raising the quality of life, most notably the “Development of the banks of Wadi Al Mansak” project, as well as the launch of the “Forum Association for Neighborhood Centers”, which aims to enhance community participation and local activities, thus consolidating the concepts of comprehensive and sustainable development.

His Excellency the Minister will sign an agreement to privatize a number of public parks in partnership with the private sector to operate and develop them in order to achieve financial sustainability and raise the quality of services provided to visitors, in addition to signing a cooperation agreement with King Khalid University within the initiative to qualify national cadres, enabling young talents to contribute to the development of the municipal sector.
His Excellency will hold an open meeting with local investors to review the investment opportunities available in infrastructure and housing projects, stressing the importance of providing an attractive and stimulating environment for the private sector and achieving balanced economic growth in the region.
Minister Al Haqeel will meet with King Khalid University students in an open dialogue aimed at enhancing youth awareness of their role in urban development, stressing that building cities starts with an informed and involved human being in shaping its future.
As an extension of the "Majab" program, which aims to support the employees of the Asir Municipality and give them the opportunity to own property in a residential program, His Excellency handed over the keys of a number of housing units to the most needy employees, in a step that reflects the Ministry's interest in empowering its cadres and enhancing their stability and quality of life.

The visit program will conclude with a field tour of a number of projects in Abha and Khamis Mushait Governorate to review the progress of work and completion rates, follow up the performance of the executive teams, and hold a meeting with Asir Municipality leaders to review performance indicators, discuss mechanisms to improve services and promote innovation in the implementation of projects to meet the aspirations of citizens, residents and visitors.

This visit is part of the efforts of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing to promote balanced development in various regions of the Kingdom, activate partnerships with the public and private sectors, and improve the quality of life, to achieve the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in building more prosperous and sustainable cities.
