Cement, concrete and sand prices fall in July

GASTAT: July saw a decrease in cement and blocks, and a variation and slight increases in concrete, sand, and tiles.

Construction materials prices in Saudi Arabia witnessed variation during July, with cement prices declining on a monthly basis, while concrete, sand and block prices varied, according to The General Authority for Statistics.

Cement prices decreased

The data showed that the price of a bag of black cement decreased by 1.3% to reach 15.6 riyals, while the price of a bag of white cement decreased by 0.6% to 38.2 riyals (50 kg weight).

Mixed concrete prices

On the other hand, concrete prices witnessed slight movements between rising and falling, as the price of “350K resistant concrete” rose by 0.2% to 230.2 riyals per cubic meter, while the price of “250K resistant concrete” decreased by 0.1% to 209.2 riyals.

The price of “350K resistant concrete” rose by 0.2% to 209.2 riyals. The price of “ordinary concrete 350K” increased by 0.3% to 220.3 riyals, while the price of "ordinary concrete 250K" decreased by 0.1% to 200.6 riyals per cubic meter.

Rise in sand prices

<Sand prices recorded varying movements, as the price of white fine sand increased by 1% to reach 77.3 riyals per cubic meter, while the price of the mixture (sand and gravel) decreased by 0.1% to 52.4 riyals. As for red sand, it witnessed a remarkable rise of 2.5% to record 38.8 riyals.

Decline in block prices and rise in tiles

Black block prices declined in July, where the price of "15 cm block" reached 1704.4 riyals per 1000 grains, down 0.3%, while the price of "20 cm block" decreased by 0.2% to 1755.7 riyals per 1000 grains. On the other hand, the price of municipal marble break tiles increased by 0.4% to record 23.7 riyals per square meter.
