The Minister of Commerce issues a decision appointing the members of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority“

<H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry, issued a decision to appoint the members of the first board of directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority with the aim of developing the contracting sector in the Kingdom and raising the level of the profession. This came based on the Cabinet decision issued on 23/11/1436 AH approving the organization of the Saudi Contractors Authority and granting the Minister of Commerce and Industry the authority to form the first board of directors of the Authority, whose members should be interested in the contracting profession.
The decision included the appointment of a board of directors consisting of 10 members: Dr. Ahmed bin Othman Al-Qasabi, Engineer Osama bin Hassan Al-Afaleq, Saeed bin Mohammed Al-Zahrani, Tariq bin Mohammed Al-Fouzan, Engineer Abdulhakim bin Amer Mustafa, Fahad bin Mohammed Al-Hammadi, Engineer Moaz bin Mohammed Al-Suhaybani, Engineer Muammar bin Sajdi Al-Attawi, Engineer Yasser bin Abdulrahman Al-Duhaim, and Engineer Yasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Haqbani.

The decision includes organizing the work of the Authority by contracting only with contractors who are members of its membership after the regulation comes into effect and establishing mechanisms that ensure the participation of contractors in it, and requiring the inclusion of a clause in the conditions and specifications booklet that requires the contractor to provide proof of his membership in the Authority.

It is noteworthy that it is indicated that the Authority's membership is valid. It is noteworthy that among the most prominent powers of the Saudi Contractors Authority are setting and developing the foundations and standards related to the sector, representing the sector in relevant international committees, bodies and unions, collecting and publishing all relevant information and statistics, and informing the sector's employees of the regulations, decisions and instructions related to the sector.

Also included the establishment of indicators and indicators for the construction sector. It also included the establishment of indicators for construction sector information such as building materials prices and contractors' wages, and the creation of an electronic register that includes interactive data about the contractor, his specialization and previous works, with the aim of enabling the public to determine the extent of satisfaction with the contractor's performance and the register is updated periodically.
