What is King Salman Gate?
His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haram Visions, announced the launch of King Salman Gate, a mixed-use destination spread over a total construction area of 12 million square meters next to the Haram Mosque, in a strategic location that makes it a natural extension of the Holy Haram.

Project objectives
The project comes within the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and the program to serve the pilgrims, with the aim of:
- Achieve a qualitative leap in the infrastructure of the city of Makkah and the central area.
- Facilitate visitation and worship through advanced facilities and high-quality services.
- Enriching the religious and cultural experience of visitors to the Grand Mosque.
- Contribute to the diversification of the national economy and create more than 300,000 job opportunities by 2036.
An architecture that combines originality and modernity
King Salman Gate embodies a unique harmony between authentic Meccan architecture and modern lifestyles, offering an integrated environment that balances comfort and spirituality.
The project includes high-end residential, cultural and service facilities and provides a capacity of nearly 900,000 worshippers in indoor prayer halls and outdoor courtyards, making it one of the largest projects supporting the absorption of visitors during the Hajj and Umrah seasons.
The project was also keen to link directly with public transportation to facilitate the movement of visitors and pilgrims between the areas of Makkah and the Grand Mosque, in a move that contributes to reducing congestion and enhancing easy access to the Haram.
Exploring Makkah's history
The project pays great attention to the Makkan identity, as it includes the development and rehabilitation of about 19,000 square meters of heritage and cultural areas, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the ancient history of Makkah in a modern environment that takes into account the values of authenticity and belonging.
The impact of the project is not limited to the urban aspect, but extends to promoting economic development by creating tens of thousands of job opportunities, stimulating the service, hospitality and employment sectors, supporting the local economy and enhancing Makkah's position as an integrated global center.
The project is being undertaken by Ruya Company, which is responsible for the development and rehabilitation of about 19,000 square meters of heritage and cultural areas.
