Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majid Al-Hogail is visiting the Chinese capital Beijing as part of an Asian tour to discuss strengthening cooperation in the fields of housing and urban development, in addition to expanding the horizons of partnership in the fields of infrastructure and smart cities.
Minister Al-Hogail's visit to Beijing will last for two days. Al-Haqeel's visit to Beijing will last for two days, and the visit comes within the path of joint cooperation between the Kingdom and China to implement 100 thousand housing units by 2030, where bilateral meetings will be held between Minister of Municipalities and Housing and a number of leaders of major Chinese companies, to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the fields of industrial construction and modern construction techniques and exchange of experiences, and sign a number of memorandums of understanding between Saudi and Chinese companies.
As part of the visit, a number of memorandums of understanding will be signed between Saudi and Chinese companies. Within the framework of the visit, Al-Haqeel will direct National Housing Company to expand its international partnerships, especially with leading Chinese companies, to keep pace with the urban growth and major projects in the Kingdom, and this visit is an extension of the strategic cooperation process between the Kingdom and China.
Saudi Arabia and China have witnessed a number of memorandums of understanding. During 2023, Saudi Arabia and China witnessed the signing of 12 agreements worth more than 1.3 billion dollars in the fields of infrastructure, finance and housing, and more than 8,000 housing units have been implemented in the regions of Makkah, Taif, Jeddah, Asir and Jizan in the past years as a result of cooperation between the two countries.
