The first Saudi Forum for Conferences and Exhibitions 2013, organized by the National Program for Exhibitions and Conferences, will start from 29 Dhul Hijjah 1434 AH to 1 Muharram 1435 AH, with the participation of several relevant parties, including the Council of Saudi Chambers, institutions and conference organizing companies and business elite, at the Hilton Jeddah Hotel.
For his part, the President of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Engineer Abdullah Al-Mabati, explained that the forum, which reflected the state's interest in the conference and exhibition industry sector, which represents the most promising economic paths, which is expected to have a great impact on the development of regional economies, providing job opportunities for citizens, in addition to contributing to stimulating economic growth and enhancing occupancy in tourist accommodation facilities and supporting services. He pointed out that the organization of the forum comes at a time when the conference and exhibition industry sector is witnessing a remarkable movement and development at the level of the Kingdom's regions by adopting the latest international standards, reflecting the Kingdom's economic potential.
He pointed out that the objectives of the forum are to transfer knowledge and benefit from international experiences in the field of exhibition and conference development, in addition to highlighting the importance of the exhibition and conference industry and its link and role in the development of the economy in general and tourism in particular, in addition to developing the capabilities and channels of communication between owners and those responsible for organizing and supplying exhibitions and conferences in the Kingdom, and encouraging the growth of the volume of investments in exhibition and conference projects in the Kingdom, indicating the economic importance of the exhibition and conference sector, as estimates indicate the increasing contribution of the exhibition and conference industry to international trade and the economies of cities that The President of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Engineer Abdullah Al-Mabati, praised the support provided by the wise leadership to enhance and improve the regulatory and legislative environment for business, investment and commercial activities in the Kingdom through the adoption of decisions and regulations to support this, including the regulations issued to develop and organize the conferences and exhibitions sector.
