Emaar Economic City has confirmed the completion of all procedures for the approval of three related contracts with a total value of 300 million riyals to implement the connection of King Abdullah Economic City to the national electricity grid.
<The company explained in a statement on «Tadawul», that it approved SAR 175 million of its share of the cost of the 380 kV centralized switching station expansion project to add 380/110 kV transformers with a safe capacity of 500 MV. Volt. The Saudi Electricity Company has contracted ABB for this project and the Saudi Electricity Company will fully supervise the progress and work of the project, which extends for 28 months.
Emaar Economic City signed a contract with ABB worth SAR 85 million for the design and implementation of a 110/13.8 kV main transformer station with a safe capacity of 134 MVA within the industrial zone in King Abdullah Economic City for a period of 28 months.
It also signed a contract with Al Sharif Group worth SAR 35 million for the construction of 110 kV transmission lines between the 380/110 kV central switching station and the main switching station within the industrial zone, with a contract duration of 28 months.
Emaar Economic City has allocated SAR 5 million to supervise the implementation of these projects, according to the specifications approved by the Saudi Electricity Company and supervise the procedures for handing over to the Saudi Electricity Company upon completion of construction work.
Last year, Emaar Economic City signed an agreement with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to connect King Abdullah Economic City to the national electricity grid.
