<The number of projects implemented by the Industrial Cities and Technology Zones Authority (MODON) amounted to more than 300 projects with a total value of more than 8 billion riyals, in addition to other projects in partnership with the private sector valued at more than 4 billion riyals. The latest statistics issued by MODON indicated that these projects are related to the development of new industrial lands, rehabilitation of the infrastructure of existing cities, provision of electrical switching stations and electricity distribution networks, water treatment plants and water distribution and drainage networks, internal road networks and sidewalks, lighting networks, afforestation projects, lakes and gardens, communication networks, in addition to highway projects, and to care for customers, the customer service center was developed by adding new services through its website and telephone call center.

For his part, Engineer Saleh bin Ibrahim Al-Rasheed, Director General of MODON, said in a press statement that the Industrial Cities and Technology Zones Authority has created for its customers an attractive investment environment for their investments with new services and facilities that support industrialists to excel and innovate in industry while outsourcing services to specialized companies, while providing investment opportunities for the private sector in industrial cities that include a number of services.

Engineer Saleh Al-Rasheed emphasized that the state has spent about 8 billion riyals over the past five years to develop new industrial cities and implement service delivery projects, which reflects the wise government's interest in the industrial sector and its adoption as a strategic option to diversify sources of income and a major contributor to the creation of job opportunities for citizens. The Director General of MODON explained that the Board of Directors of MODON approved increasing the financial compensation for the services provided by MODON to its customers, stressing that the cost of operation and maintenance exceeds what MODON receives in return, as most industrial lands are rented between one and two riyals per square meter, while the actual cost in some cities reaches (9) riyals.

The industrial cities are witnessing a great demand from factories from inside and outside the Kingdom to invest by establishing new factories or moving their factories to industrial cities scattered in all regions of the Kingdom, which are characterized by infrastructure, supporting services, incentives and facilities, the most important of which are preferential symbolic rents that start in some promising industrial cities at (1 riyal) per square meter and reach in some major cities to (4) riyals, and is one of the most important incentives that support industry in the region as this rent is equivalent to part of the cost of the actual expenses of the services provided by Modon to its customers through operation and maintenance.
