General statistics: The Kingdom's population is 27 million

The total population of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is (27,136,977) 27,136,977, according to preliminary results of the General Population and Housing Census announced by the General Authority for Statistics and Information.
In a statement, the Authority clarified that these preliminary results of the census—which was conducted pursuant to Cabinet Decision No. (244) dated 10/26/1423 AH, reflect the total population figures as of the reference date, which corresponds to the evening of Tuesday, the 13th of Jumada al-Awwal 1431 AH, corresponding to April 27, 2010 AD. The preliminary results of the census were as follows: -
1 – The total population of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was (27,136,977), twenty-seven million, one hundred thirty-six thousand, nine hundred seventy-seven people.
2 – The number of Saudi citizens was (18,707,576), or eighteen million, seven hundred and seven thousand, five hundred and seventy-six people.
3 – The number of males among Saudi citizens (9,527,173), or 50.9 percent of the total number of citizens.
The number of female citizens was (9,180,403)—nine million one hundred eighty thousand four hundred three—representing (49.1 percent)—forty-nine and one-tenth of a percent—of the total number of citizens.
4 – The number of non-citizen residents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was (8,429,401) eight million, four hundred twenty-nine thousand, four hundred one. The number of male non-Saudi residents was (5,932,974) 5,932,974, representing 70.4 percent of the total number of residents. The number of female residents (2,496,427.42), or 29.6 percent (twenty-nine and six-tenths percent) of the total number of residents.
5 – The number of dwellings in the Kingdom was (4,643,151)—four million, six hundred forty-three thousand, one hundred fifty-one dwellings.
Detailed census results will be published sequentially as soon as they are finalized.On this occasion, the General Authority for Statistics and Information extended its deepest gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, his trusted Crown Prince, and the Second Deputy Prime Minister—may God protect them—for the support and patronage they received throughout all stages of the census.
The Authority also expressed its gratitude to all those who contributed to and supported the census efforts, including citizens, residents, and all government agencies—foremost among them the National Guard, the Ministry of Defense and Aviation, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, all regional emirates, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, the Ministry of Education , the General Presidency for Youth Welfare, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Da’wah, and Guidance, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Culture and Information, and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, praying to God to protect our beloved country and preserve its glory, progress, and prosperity in all fields.
