His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province and Chairman of the Eastern Province Development Authority, today sponsored the launch of the third annual forum for the development authorities of regions and cities, organized by the Eastern Province Development Authority under the slogan "We plan cities... for a prosperous future". In the presence of HRH Prince Saud bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of the Eastern Province, Vice Chairman of the Eastern Province Development Authority Council and Chairman of the Executive Committee, a number of Their Excellencies and CEOs of development authorities in the Kingdom, and more than 500 participants representing the system of development authorities, strategic offices and government agencies, in addition to the participation of a group of local and international leaders, experts and specialists, which will last for two days in Khobar Governorate. The Emir of Eastern Province emphasized that development authorities, under the support of the wise leadership, have become one of the most important development possibilities to raise the quality of life and shape the future of Saudi cities, pointing out that the Kingdom's Vision 2030 has established clear principles in empowering regions and building prosperous local economies.

It is noteworthy that the forum includes two days of dialogue sessions and specialized workshops that review the experiences of development authorities in urban planning and governance and global models in the development of smart cities, in addition to strategies to empower the local economy and attract investments, environmental sustainability solutions, urban greening, experiences of empowering communities and enhancing the quality of life, and the forum witnesses the signing of several cooperation agreements between participating entities with the aim of enhancing integration between the authorities and the public and private sectors.
