Riyadh and Madinah “Creative Cities” in UNESCO's network map

Riyadh and Medina join UNESCO's Creative Cities Network for design and gastronomy.

<Riyadh's growing status as a regional center for creativity and innovation in the fields of design, the Architecture and Design Authority (ADA) announced that Riyadh has joined the UNESCO Creative Design Cities Network. This achievement is the result of integrated efforts led by the Architecture and Design Authority of the Ministry of Culture, in cooperation with a number of entities. This result came after the organization adopted the results of the evaluation of the cities applying to join the list for 2025, where the nomination file highlighted the design scene in the Saudi capital and its diversity between architecture, urban design, industrial and interior design, product design and digital design.

The CEO of the Ministry of Culture's Architecture and Design Authority, in cooperation with other entities. The CEO of Architecture and Design considered Riyadh's accession to the UNESCO Creative Design Cities Network as a historic step, noting that this international recognition comes as a result of the national strategy for architecture and design in building a stimulating environment for innovation.

On the occasion of Riyadh's accession to the UNESCO Creative Design Cities Network. In the same context, on the occasion of World Cities Day, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced the inclusion of Medina in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as the second creative city in the field of gastronomy in the Kingdom, which will play a role in attracting millions of visitors annually to make Medina a center of regional cultural and commercial diversity due to its location on vital trade and pilgrimage routes.

On the occasion of World Cities Day, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced the inclusion of Medina in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.
