Intensive monitoring tours carried out by The Saudi Council of Engineers revealed the registration of 894 individual violations, in addition to 17 violating establishments, during visits that included more than 20 companies in a number of sectors, including contracting, integrated contracts, and project management, during visits to more than 20 companies in a number of sectors, including contracting, integrated contracts, and project management.<The tours included reviewing the status of more than 5200 practitioners to verify the regularity of their practice of the profession and their commitment to obtain professional accreditation, where the most prominent violations were practicing engineering work without a valid accreditation, employing non-certified practitioners, and continuing to work after the expiration of the accreditation.
In terms of procedures, violations related to practicing the profession without a license and employing non-certified persons were referred to the Public Prosecution according to jurisdiction, while cases of work after the expiration of accreditation were referred to the competent committee for the necessary regular procedures.
The Secretary General of the Saudi Council of Engineers, Musaed bin Abdullah Al-Otaibi, explained that these tours aim to enhance compliance and organize professional practice, indicating that professional accreditation is a prerequisite for practicing any engineering activity, and that irregular practices are considered violations that are dealt with according to the approved procedures, with the opportunity to object to the violators through the official channels.He added that these efforts contribute to raising the quality of engineering practice, enhancing the reliability of the market, and protecting projects from irregular practices.
