The “Saudi-Chinese Construction Forum” was launched today in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, the "Saudi-Chinese Construction Forum" was launched today in Shenzhen, People’s Republic of China, under the patronage of His Excellency Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, Minister of Municipalities and Housing, with the participation of representatives from the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), the China Chamber of Commerce for International Contractors, and a select group of leading Saudi and Chinese companies in the construction and building sector. This strategic move aims to build a sustainable institutional partnership between the two countries in the fields of housing and urban development.

The launch of the forum aims to expand cooperation between the construction sectors in the Kingdom and China, open new horizons for knowledge transfer and the exchange of expertise, and enhance the participation of international companies in major development projects within the Kingdom, thereby contributing to raising the sector’s efficiency and accelerating the pace of completion.
The forum witnessed the signing of strategic agreements and memoranda of understanding with leading Chinese companies, including POWERCHINA, CRCC, and China Construction Bank, thereby supporting the attraction of global expertise and the localization of modern technologies in the construction sector, as well as enhancing local content through knowledge transfer and national capacity building.

During his opening remarks at the forum, His Excellency the Minister of Municipalities and Housing emphasized that the launch of the forum represents a qualitative shift from addressing individual challenges to building an integrated institutional cooperation system, which contributes to empowering the sector and enhancing its competitiveness, boosting the attractiveness of investment in the Saudi real estate market, and creating a supportive environment for the development of local supply chains and the localization of the modern construction industry.
At the conclusion of the forum, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Contractors Authority Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, affirmed that the forum’s outcomes represent an important step toward strengthening institutional cooperation between construction companies in the Kingdom and China, and expanding opportunities for partnership and the exchange of expertise and knowledge, noting that the Authority will continue working to enable Saudi contractors to capitalize on international opportunities and build high-quality partnerships that contribute to supporting the sector’s growth and achieving national development goals.

The forum is part of the Saudi Contractors Authority’s efforts to strengthen the Saudi construction sector’s presence in international markets and build strategic relationships with global entities and companies, thereby contributing to the transfer of knowledge, the exchange of expertise, and enhancing the sector’s competitiveness.
