Companies in cement companies in Saudi Arabia posted mixed results in June 2026, benefiting from improved domestic demand following the Hajj season, which was reflected in higher sales and production, while exports continued to decline, affected by weak demand in regional markets and geopolitical tensions.
The monthly report on the Saudi cement market, issued by Yamama Cement Company, showed that sales by local companies rose by 10.2% year-over-year to reach approximately 4.2 million metric tons, compared to 3.8 million metric tons in the same month last year.

Total production by the 17 cement companies operating in the market also rose by 7.4% to reach 4.3 million metric tons, compared to approximately 4 million metric tons in June 2025, reflecting an improvement in the pace of activity in the domestic market.
In contrast, cement and clinker exports fell last month by 31.7% to 483,000 metric tons, compared to 707,000 metric tons in June of the previous year, amid continued pressure on external demand in a number of neighboring markets.
For the first half of this year, the data showed a modest decline in the sector’s performance compared to the same period in 2025, with total production falling by 2.6% to 25.9 million metric tons, compared to 26.6 million metric tons during the first six months of last year. domestic cement sales fell by 2.4% to 25.1 million metric tons, compared to 25.7 million metric tons during the same period in 2025, while exports fell by 22.6% to 3.1 million metric tons, compared to about 4 million metric tons a year ago.
Al-Yamamah Cement Company maintained its leadership in the domestic market during the first half of 2026 with sales of 3.9 million metric tons, accounting for 15.4% of total domestic sales, followed by Saudi Cement Company with sales of 2.9 million metric tons and a market share of 11.5%, and then Eastern Cement with approximately 1.5 million metric tons, representing 6.1% of the market.
Saudi Cement Exports
In the export sector, Saudi Cement Company topped the list of exporters with total shipments of 1.2 million metric tons during the first half of the year, equivalent to 37.7% of the sector’s total exports, followed by Yanbu Cement Company with exports of 858,000 metric tons and a share of 27.8%, then Southern Cement with approximately 371,000 metric tons, representing 12% of total exports.
This performance follows a strong year for the sector in 2025, as domestic sales for cement companies rose by approximately 11% compared to 2024, while production increased by 10.4%, and exports rose by approximately 19.7%, driven by the accelerated activity of major projects linked to Saudi Vision 2030, along with continued growth in the real estate sector and rising regional demand for Saudi cement.
