With the participation of more than 30 Islamic countries, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, is patronizing the 15th Trade Fair of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which is organized by the Kingdom’s Ministry of Commerce and Investment in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Islamic Center for Trade Development, and the Council of Saudi Chambers, at the Riyadh International Exhibition and Convention Center from May 22–26, 2016.
The exhibition achieves a number of objectives, foremost among which are showcasing the products, industries, and services of OIC member states; increasing the level of trade; promoting intra-OIC investment opportunities; and deepening cooperation in various economic fields among member states, as well as highlighting investment, trade, and economic opportunities in the host country to member states, businesspeople, and investors from participating countries; opening new markets for the products and industries of participating countries; and stimulating trade between member states and the host country. The Islamic Trade Fair is held every two years in one of the Islamic countries, and participants in this edition include: Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Palestine, Morocco, Tunisia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iraq, Sudan, Mauritania, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Turkmenistan, and other Islamic countries.
The Kingdom’s pavilion takes center stage at the fair; it is the largest pavilion at the event, covering an area of 1,050 square meters, and features many of the Kingdom’s signature goods and products that have earned it global recognition; Saudi non-oil exports reach more than 100 countries worldwide, totaling over 200 billion riyals annually.
