The Al-Qassim Region Municipality, in coordination with the Committee Committee on Buildings at Risk of Collapse, to carry out the demolition of abandoned and dilapidated buildings and workshops in the city of Buraidah, in order to mitigate the risks these structures may pose to public safety, as well as the safety of residents, passersby, and neighbors.

The official spokesperson for the Al-Qassim Region Municipality, Nayef bin Abdulrahman Al-Nafei, explained that the demolition work covers various neighborhoods in the city of Buraidah, and targets old buildings and structures whose owners have previously been notified of the need to demolish them or to contact the relevant authorities to complete the necessary procedures, but have failed to respond.
He noted that the targeted buildings include mud-brick, reinforced concrete, and traditional structures, as well as abandoned metal workshops in danger of collapsing. He emphasized that the Municipality will continue to address these sites in accordance with approved procedures, thereby contributing to enhancing public safety and reducing the hazards and risks associated with abandoned buildings.

Al-Nafei called on the owners of properties and workshops subject to demolition to promptly contact the Technical Affairs Agency—represented by the Emergency and Crisis Management Department and the Committee on Buildings at Risk of Collapse— and to complete the required procedures within a maximum of 30 days from the date of the announcement.
