Industrial Violations Committee issues penalties and decisions for more than 270 violations

The Industrial Violations Review Committee at the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources began studying more than 270 industrial violations for 130 factories during the past year 1437 AH, in order to improve the fair competitive environment, raise the quality of industrial products and upgrade the level of national factories

The violations included production without obtaining the necessary licenses, lack of conformity of some products with Saudi standard specifications, lack of safety and environmental requirements, use of expired raw materials, low level of hygiene in factories, lack of health certificates for workers, lack of laboratories in some oil factories, in addition to a number of violations of the anti-commercial fraud system and others.

The head of the committee, Engineer Saad bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, explained that the decisions and administrative sanctions issued by the committee varied between closing a number of industrial facilities, stopping production lines until the violation is corrected, seizure of non-conforming products, administrative warnings and transferring a number of violations to the Ministry of Trade and Investment regarding violations of the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, cover-up and foreign investment system, and a number of violations related to the food and water industries were transferred to the Food and Drug Authority.

The head of the committee explained that the administrative decisions and sanctions issued by the committee varied.

The Industrial Violations Review Committee is specialized in following up and investigating violations of industrial projects in the Kingdom and issuing penalties against violators of the regulations, and the committee decides on cases that are seized in various industrial facilities, and has been granted the authority to issue administrative sanctions on violating factories, and the ministry aims to activate the regulatory roles and develop the industrial sector, in addition to improving the economic and industrial environment in the Kingdom.
