At its 40th joint meeting in the French capital, Paris, the Saudi-French Business Council reviewed the achievements it has made in recent months. The Council’s Chairman, Dr. Mohammed bin Laden, delivered a speech on this occasion in which he praised France’s strategic relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that the Kingdom is seeking companies with expertise that are increasingly committed to localizing their operations within the Kingdom. He explained that the agreements signed are the result of these mutual visits between the two sides.
For his part, the French Ambassador to the Kingdom affirmed that France has historic ties with the Kingdom on the political, cultural, and commercial fronts, and that there is interest within French business circles in strengthening ties of cooperation, particularly following the conference of foreign ambassadors in Paris and the confirmation there of the agreements and contracts resulting from the visit to France by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense, resulting in the largest Saudi-French contract since 2016, with a total value of 2 billion euros—representing approximately 20% of the total volume of Saudi-French trade.
In conclusion, a signing ceremony was held for four commercial contracts, including a specialized contract for the Riyadh Metro project focusing on metro tunnel ventilation, a contract for an environmental project, a contract in the water sector, and a security project.
