The “Sakani” program released its July report, highlighting its key achievements during the first half of 2021, along with a set of data and statistics on the number of beneficiary households, projects currently under implementation, and the number of real estate transfer certificates issued.
The report also highlighted that 11,119 households benefited from the program in June, including 9,547 households that moved into their homes, as part of the program’s ongoing efforts to enable Saudi families to own their first home, in line with the objectives of the housing program —one of the programs under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030— – by reaching a homeownership rate of 70% by 2030. The report indicated that the total number of certificates for the real estate transaction tax exemption for first homes from the program’s inception through the end of last June reached 513,311, The report also reviewed the housing and financing solutions offered by the program, which include subsidized mortgages in collaboration with banks and financial institutions for the purchase of ready-to-move-in housing units, units under construction, or self-build projects for those who own land, as well as residential land reservations under the “Sakani” program, aimed at increasing homeownership rates among citizens.
The report noted that more than 111,000 families benefited from all the housing and financing options and solutions made available by the program during the first half of this year, of which more than 87,000 families have moved into their homes, in addition to this year’s targets, which include serving 220,000 new households by making 30,000 residential plots available and adding 50,000 new housing units under construction in partnership with real estate developers, and providing 140,000 subsidized mortgage loans in cooperation with banks and financial institutions for the purchase of ready-to-move-in and ”under construction” housing units, or for self-construction by those who own land.
It also highlighted the latest construction updates across 72 projects offering more than 100,000 diverse housing units—including apartments, villas, and townhouses—characterized by integrated infrastructure and competitive prices, The report also covered the handover of the “Saraya Al-Ghoroub” project in Al-Khobar Governorate, as well as updates on residential land and master plans, Through the “Sakani” website and app, the program allows users to view and reserve these properties online across 218 residential plans offering more than 180,000 residential plots distributed across various regions and cities of the Kingdom.
It is worth noting that the “Sakani” program has announced that more than 1.1 million Saudi families have benefited since the program’s launch in 2017, including more than 390,000 new families in 2020, of whom 138,000 have moved into their homes, The program aims to enable Saudi families to own their first home by providing housing options and solutions that meet their aspirations and financial capabilities, with a variety of choices and affordable down payments.
