The Saudi Council of Engineers has submitted a draft of a new and alternative regulation called “Saudi Commission for Engineering Specialties” on the «Explore» platform to update the standards of classification, localization and professional examination according to the best experiences and practices and to protect life, health, property and sustainability of projects.
The Saudi Council of Engineers has submitted a draft of a new and alternative regulation called "Saudi Commission for Engineering Specialties". The Authority published the draft of the new regulation in front of interested parties to benefit from their opinions, according to which the tasks of the Authority are focused on developing policies, plans, programs and strategies, proposing systems and regulations, registering and accrediting practitioners of the profession, issuing and granting licenses and classifications, preparing and organizing professional tests, forming specialized scientific and professional committees and councils, adopting and developing standards, controls and conditions for practicing engineering professions, and establishing and accrediting institutes, centers and specialized companies to serve its objectives.
It works to take care of the interests of its members, organize monitoring and field tours to control professional violations and enhance the quality of the profession's performance, prepare specialized professional programs, register, register and classify establishments working in the engineering sector, and identify and update engineering professions and activities and their classifications.
The Authority is responsible for reviewing and proposing localization plans and programs related to engineering professions and reducing occupational exposure, examining scientific and professional qualifications and practical experiences, and adopting them within the professional classifications and titles approved by the Authority, recommending the development of study plans for engineering colleges and institutes, and arbitrating engineering dispute cases directly, or through its arbitration centers or approved by it.
The Authority is responsible for reviewing and proposing plans and programs related to engineering professions and reducing occupational exposure. <Memberships are divided into basic membership that includes all Saudi practitioners of the profession, non-Saudi practitioners, technicians and students of engineering colleges and institutes registered in the Authority and honorary membership granted by the Board of Directors of the Authority to persons (natural or legal) who make distinguished contributions to the Authority. The distribution of seats for elected members of the Board of Directors, four seats allocated to the public sector, four seats allocated to the private sector, one seat allocated to faculty members in universities, and one seat allocated to engineering establishments and the rank of any of the representatives of government agencies is not less than the fourteenth rank or so on
