The Ministry of Justice revealed that the number of mortgaged properties, documented by notaries in Saudi Arabia about 30.6 thousand properties, since the beginning of the current Hijri year, where residential properties accounted for about 75% of them.

According to the ministry's data, notaries in the Riyadh region led the number of mortgaged properties with 51.3 percent of the total, with 15,751 properties, followed by the Makkah region with 4,533 properties, and the Eastern Province with 3,406 properties.

Qassim region recorded 1558 properties, Madinah region 1491 properties, followed by Tabuk region 522 properties, Jazan region 497 properties, Hail 492 properties, and Al-Jouf 378 properties.

As for Najran, 283 properties have been mortgaged since the beginning of the current Hijri year, then Al-Baha region 276 properties, followed by the Northern Borders 230 properties.
