Schneider Electric, the global leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, today announced that its EV charging stations (EVlink Smart Wallbox) have been certified by the Saudi Standards and Metrology Organization (SASO) (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, underscoring the company's commitment to supporting the Kingdom's vision to shift to sustainable mobility, promote the use of electric vehicles and reduce carbon emissions.

<The Kingdom's EV sector is a key enabler of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and its focus on transitioning to clean and sustainable energy sources. EVs are essential to achieving the goals of the Saudi Green Initiative, which aims to reduce carbon emissions by 60% region-wide. Recent research conducted at the King Abdullah Center for Petroleum Studies and Research has shown that if all vehicles in the Kingdom were replaced with electric vehicles, emissions would be reduced by half, equivalent to 35 million tons.
The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) is the sole regulator of electric vehicles in the Kingdom, setting requirements for vehicles and charging stations to meet safety standards and ensuring that they are tested according to specifications that have been determined to suit the Kingdom's climatic conditions.
