The Jeddah Slums Committee revealed that the removal of the 34 slums continues according to the previously announced dates, with 22 slums expected to be completed before Ramadan.

The Jeddah Slums Committee revealed that the removal of the 34 slums in Jeddah Governorate is ongoing.

The committee clarified that there is no removal work in the month of Ramadan, while the removal of the remaining 12 neighborhoods will resume after Ramadan, including the neighborhoods of Bani Malik, Al-Warud, Mushrifa, Al-Jamaa, Al-Rehab, Al-Aziziya, Al-Ruwabi, Al-Rabwa, Al-Muntazahat, Qweiza, Al-Adl, Al-Fadl, Umm Al-Salam and Kilo 14 North.

The Governor of the General Authority for State Real Estate, Ihsan Bafqih, revealed earlier that the start of disbursing compensation for properties that were demolished in Jeddah after 60 days, and pointed out that after each demolition, committees are formed to review the properties that have been inventoried to determine their value, and within 6 months the payment of compensation for what has been demolished is completed, and that in the areas that have been removed and are scheduled to be removed, the percentage of owned with deeds from 10 to 15%, and the rest random construction on irregular lands.
And that the standards received from the Saudi Authority for Evaluators are generalized to all regions of the Kingdom, stressing that there is no stratification in the standards, and that what is done in Khuzama and Diriyah is the same as what is done in the informal settlements of Jeddah and any area.

Jeddah Governor Engineer Saleh Al-Turki also reviewed the mechanism for determining compensation for affected groups, stressing that the Jeddah Municipality will make a cadastral elevation for each neighborhood that will be removed, and that any citizen who owns a deed for white land will receive compensation, while if he owns a building on the land, he will be compensated for the land and rubble, and whoever has a house on land he does not own will be compensated for the rubble provided he proves his ownership of the house.
