More than 14 entities from the public and private sectors plan to participate in the Investment Opportunities Forum organized by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh Region, from Monday through Wednesday 15–17 Rajab 1436 AH (May 4–6, 2015).
Dr. Muhammad Al-Katiri, Secretary General of the Chamber, said that many entities offering numerous investment opportunities, as well as those involved in facilitating and promoting investment—such as the Ministry of Defense, the High Commission for the Development of Riyadh, the General Investment Authority, the Industrial Development Fund, the General Authority for Tourism and Antiquities, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, the Saudi Development Fund, and other entities, were keen to participate in the forum, which provides an opportunity for broad and active participation by private-sector investment partners and young entrepreneurs to explore and learn about the opportunities available through these entities.
Al-Kathiri emphasized that the strong response shown by government agencies and major private-sector companies to participate in the Investment Opportunities Forum and Exhibition, as well as their readiness to offer a large number of investment opportunities, reflects the strength and resilience of the national economy.
He noted that the forum will provide a platform to tap into investment fields in the governorates, which are rich in vast, untapped opportunities awaiting constructive engagement—an effort that requires high enthusiasm from investors, and for all relevant stakeholders to join forces in facilitating and promoting investments, which will positively impact local development in the governorates and help create job opportunities for young people there. This will support efforts to stabilize the youth population and narrow the gap between living conditions in major cities and the governorates, and curbing the phenomenon of migration from villages to major cities.
