More than one million reports While H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, Minister of Commerce, stressed that combating commercial fraud and protecting intellectual property rights mainly aims to protect the consumer and the merchant at the same time, pointing out that the Ministry of Commerce has received over the past three years, 98 % of which were addressed, indicating that 53 % are reports of commercial fraud. He explained that the Ministry of Commerce has more than 28 million observers "representing the population of the Kingdom" to monitor markets and report violations.
Tackling fraud and imitation His Excellency the Director General of Customs Saleh bin Muneea Al-Khaliliwi also explained that commercial fraud, imitation and violation of intellectual property rights have become issues of concern to the whole world because of the danger they pose to countries and societies and explained that Saudi Customs since 2008 began in implementing a plan to combat commercial fraud and counterfeiting and took many customs measures to contribute to the control of adulterated or counterfeit goods from entering the Kingdom, which - praise be to God - achieved tangible positive results.
