The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources more than 36,000 “Certificate of Origin” since the “Certificate of Origin Service” was transferred to it in early January, as part of its efforts to support and facilitate the service for exporters in various sectors, whether industrial, commercial, or individual.
The Certificate of Origin is a document certifying that products exported abroad are of national origin or have acquired national origin status. The service targets industrial establishments, the commercial sector of companies and institutions, and the individual sector, including farmers, fishermen, self-employed individuals, local artisans, and others.
The certificate includes five forms, namely: Certificate of Origin for National Products of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, Certificate of Origin for National Products of Arab States, Certificate of Origin (Preferential) – Standard Form for GCC States when exporting to countries and economic blocs with which they have free trade agreements, a Certificate of Origin in both Arabic and English for other countries that do not grant preferential treatment (General Form), and a Certificate of Origin Form (A) specific to the Generalized System of Preferences.
The Ministry clarified in a press release today that applications for a Certificate of Origin can be submitted through the Ministry’s website via the link https://coo.mim.gov.sa .
