Posted in

Egyptian Tourism Minister Khaled Rami revealed that the Egyptian government is currently offering 8.5 million square meters of land in Wadi Qamisha, north of Hurghada, for investment.  He praised the scale of investments by Saudi businessmen in Egypt, which exceed $700 million, noting that there have been no setbacks in Saudi investors’ tourism projects in Egypt, and emphasizing that the Prime Minister’s Office has recently worked to resolve all issues related to stalled projects following a meeting with a number of the project owners.

The Egyptian minister described the investors as partners in the economic development Egypt is currently experiencing, while emphasizing the depth of relations between the Republic of Egypt and its sister Arab countries, particularly those in the Gulf, and that Egypt always opens its market to all its Arab brothers, with whom it shares close geographical, cultural, and social ties, while stressing the importance of the Arab market for Egyptian tourism and the Ministry’s focus on this market.

Rami noted that the number of Saudi tourists in Egypt rose by 70% during the first quarter of 2015 compared to the same period last year. He noted that the Ministry’s strategy aims to increase the number of tourists visiting Egypt to 20 million.

The Egyptian Minister of Tourism explained that incentives are being offered to Saudi and other Gulf investors to enable them to carry out all their projects with ease and convenience.
