The Al-Jawf Region Municipality has intensified public sanitation efforts as part of a comprehensive plan to improve the urban landscape, During the first half of 2024, the Sanitation Department removed approximately 51,000 metric tons of debris and waste from construction and demolition projects from the streets, squares, and neighborhoods of Sakaka.
Omar Al-Hamwan, the Secretariat’s official spokesperson, explained that the Sanitation Department’s work included replacing 130 waste containers within neighborhoods and repairing another 130 containers, adding that specialized teams in Sakaka are conducting cleanup campaigns in two shifts—morning and evening—to remove rubble andtrash and waste, as well as sanitizing streets and trash container sites. The sanitation plan also includes washing and sanitizing sidewalks on main and secondary roads, as well as the pedestrian and bicycle paths that the municipality has developed to serve residents.
Al-Hamwan called on citizens and residents to cooperate by submitting comments and reports through the Unified Reporting Center at 940 and the “Baladi” app on smart devices.
