Cabinet approves amendment to Article 9 of the Saudi Building Code Implementation Law

The Council approved linking the total release of electricity to the certificate of occupancy and transferring the license of management consulting for individuals to Human Resources

The Council of Ministers agreed in Tuesday's session chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, held in Riyadh, to amend Article (9) of the Saudi Building Code Implementation Law by adding the following phrase to it: "The occupancy certificate is a prerequisite for the total release of electricity."

The Council of Ministers also approved the transfer of the competence of the license for “practicing the profession of management consultancy for individuals” from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, in order to be included in the documents of self-employment.

The Council also approved the transfer of the licensing jurisdiction for “practicing the profession of management consulting for individuals” from the Ministry of Commerce to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, to be included in the self-employment documents. The Ministry of Commerce will continue to exercise the jurisdiction of issuing the said licenses for a period of (six) months.
