Concrete prices rise and cement prices fluctuate over the past month

Official data shows slight increases in concrete and mixed cement prices with notable increases in sand, gypsum and block.

concrete prices in Saudi Arabia rose slightly in March, according to the latest data released by the General Authority for Statistics (GAS). Meanwhile, the prices of cement and some other materials used in construction were mixed, raising questions about future trends in the local building materials market.

Slightly higher concrete prices

In price details, the price of concrete (350K resistant) recorded 224.49 riyals per cubic meter, an increase of 0.04% compared to February. Similarly, the price of concrete (250K resistant) saw an increase of 0.02%, reaching 204.43 riyals per cubic meter.

Concrete (350K ordinary) increased by 0.3% to 214.98 riyals per cubic meter, while the price of concrete (250K ordinary) reached 195.66 riyals per cubic meter, an increase of 0.1%.

Cement prices vary

As for cement prices, black cement recorded a rise of 0.6% last March to reach 15.84 riyals per 50 kg. On the other hand, national white cement recorded a slight decrease of 0.1% to reach 37.83 riyals per 50 kg.

Significant increase in prices of other materials

<The price of national gypsum increased by 0.3% to reach 16 riyals per 40 kg. The price of white sand increased by 3.5% to reach 84.05 riyals, and the mixture (sand and gravel) increased by 2.7% to reach 54.68 riyals per cubic meter. The price of red sand increased by 7.5% to reach 39.32 riyals per cubic meter.

Black block sees mixed increases

On the other hand, black block prices recorded a slight increase, as the price of black block (15 cm size) reached 1709.22 riyals per 1000 grains, an increase of 0.4%, while black block (20 cm size) recorded an increase of 0.3% to reach 1756.56 riyals per 1000 grains.
