<The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing Ministry of Municipalities and Housing stressed the continuation of supervisory efforts through regional secretariats in various cities of the Kingdom to monitor and address violations of housing division intended for investment in irregular ways, stressing that it continues to address any practices that do not comply with the approved municipal requirements, to preserve the quality of life and the urban fabric within residential neighborhoods.
The Ministry explained that the regional secretariats continue to carry out field monitoring tours, also based on digital reports and reports through the “Baladi” application, within an advanced monitoring system that allows effectively controlling violations and taking regular measures against those responsible, stressing that fines reach up to (200) thousand riyals in accordance with the approved municipal regulations and instructions.
The “Municipalities and Housing” stressed the importance of owners, investors, advertisers and tenants adhering to the approved regulatory requirements, and preventing the offer or rental of divided residential units through electronic applications or any other means without an official license issued by the secretariats of the regions. The Ministry called on citizens and residents to cooperate with it in strengthening oversight by quickly reporting any violations or abuses of this kind through the “Baladi” application or by calling the unified number (940), stressing that the reports represent an essential tributary to support oversight tours and achieve a safe and sustainable housing environment.
The most prominent violations include re-dividing residential units into smaller areas, adding internal doors, and modifying exits through setbacks without obtaining the necessary licenses, noting that such violations represent a breach of public safety and negatively affect the infrastructure and municipal services, in addition to their implications on the social and economic balance.
