The fourth phase of applying the residential and commercial design guidelines Saudi Architecture was launched yesterday to include a number of cities and governorates in Riyadh, Makkah, the northern borders, as well as Tabuk, as part of completing the implementation of Saudi Architecture Map.

The map includes 19 architectural styles inspired by the geographical and cultural characteristics of the Kingdom, which were identified based on architectural and historical studies that reflect the inherited architectural heritage, with the aim of building modern environments that express the specificity of the place and the person. The fourth phase includes a range of styles related to the targeted areas, including the architecture of the foothills of Tihama, the coast of Tabuk, Bisha Desert, Farsan Islands, the countryside of Medina and Asir, as well as Eastern Najdi architecture, in a move that promotes urban diversity and local identity in the cities.
