Binladin confirmed that it filed an appeal against the report issued by Aramco regarding the fall of the “Haram Al Makkah” crane, where the appeal included 16 evidence that includes the inaccuracy of Aramco's report, indicating that those evidence confirms that the observations and points made by Binladin specialists are not accurate and do not rise to the level of relevance of that report.
<p style="text-align: justify;The company pointed out that the number of defendants who have been officially indicted has reached 14 defendants facing charges of negligence that resulted in 107 deaths and more than 238 injuries to pilgrims, including three defendants from Umm Al-Qura University, all engineers, the most prominent of whom is a defendant with Pakistani nationality, another Canadian, and a Saudi defendant, while the case file recorded the accusation of an official with Gulf nationality who works in one of Binladin's companies, in addition to the remaining defendants, all of whom work in Binladin Company.
The company pointed out that the number of defendants who were officially indicted has reached 14 defendants who are facing charges for their negligence.
The Criminal Court in Makkah held a judicial session to discuss the defendants in the case of the fall of the "Makkah Haram“ crane, in the presence of all the defendants, where the indictment was handed over to the defendants in the case, and the case manager asked the defendants to respond to the charges against them, to discuss them during the next session, and the next session will also witness the discussion of several points about some of the charges that were included in the indictment, and the court judge will ask the defendants questions about some points that were included in the indictment, including charges against several people including resident engineers and three officials who have been investigated and work at UQU University in Mecca Al-Makkah.
The Investigation and Public Prosecution Authority in Makkah referred the case file of the fall of the "Haram" crane to the Criminal Court in Makkah to consider the charges and punish the defendants who are found guilty, after the curtain closed on the investigations that lasted for nearly eight months, which were investigated by the competent authorities, and included summoning a number of defendants in the case, where their statements were heard and recorded in the case file.
