His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Acting Governor of the Riyadh Region, directed the establishment of a joint operations room, and to launch an intensive field campaign starting today, with the participation of 11 government agencies, to address the situation in neighborhoods in the center of the capital within the municipalities of Al-Bat'ha, Al-Shumaisi, and Al-Malaz, with the aim of finding urgent solutions to the spread of undocumented workers.
Participating in the operations room and the intensive field campaign—which enjoys strong support from senior leadership—are the Riyadh Region Emirate, the Riyadh Municipality, the Riyadh Police and Traffic Department, the General Directorate of Passports, Civil Defense, the Ministries of Commerce and Human Resources, the Communications Authority, as well as the Saudi Electricity Company and the National Water Company.
The field operations to be carried out by the participating agencies will be distributed across five areas, three of which are within Al-Bat’ha, one in Al-Malaz, and another in Al-Shumaisi. The campaigns will be divided into two shifts lasting 12 consecutive hours each day, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
The campaign will follow an integrated approach aimed at unifying efforts to address the situation in the targeted neighborhoods through inspection rounds, the removal of buildings at risk of collapse, and the removal of damaged and abandoned vehicles, as well as addressing municipal violations committed by commercial establishments and offenders, and removing debris left behind by street vendors—all as part of steps designed to enhance the appeal of Riyadh’s central neighborhoods and rectify the situation regarding illegal employment.
