The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, represented by the Ministry's Agency for Housing Supply Stimulation and Real Estate Development, has launched <a style="color: #800000;" href="https://amlak.net.The Green Suburbs Initiative aims to increase vegetation cover in residential program projects, improve the quality of life for residents and increase the attractiveness of residential units in those projects, as the initiative will contribute to reducing carbon emissions causing pollution in residential areas to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve the quality of life in the cities and governorates of the Kingdom.

Planting 1.3 million trees
Through the initiative, the ministry aims to plant more than 1.3 million trees in more than 50 projects in different regions of the Kingdom, covering more than 55 million m2 of project areas, which include 100,000 housing units and a number of schools and other facilities, in addition to planting more than 2 million m2 of streets and corridors, as the initiative is scheduled to be implemented through three phases starting from this year until 2025, with the first phase of the project targeting more than 270,000 local trees and shrubs of plants suitable for each region.More than 1.3 million trees will be planted in more than 50 projects in different regions of the Kingdom, covering more than 55 million m2 of the project areas, which include 100,000 housing units and a number of schools and other facilities.
Raising the quality of life
Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Tawil, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Housing Supply and Real Estate Development, said that the Green Suburbs Initiative aims to raise the quality of life in residential communities, build a vibrant society, improve the lifestyle of Saudi families, contribute to increasing the attractiveness of ownership in new neighborhoods, improve the urban landscape in Saudi cities, and increase per capita vegetation cover.Tawil added that the project aims to plant thousands of trees and shrubs native to the area. Tawilan added that the Green Neighborhoods Initiative is based on a set of criteria according to the conditions and needs of the local environment, which includes planting trees and shrubs in front of residential units, walkways and sidewalks, in addition to planting various government facilities, streets and walkways in housing projects.
